A man has died in a motorbike crash in Bunbeg, County Donegal.

The single vehicle crash happened on the on the R257 at 2.50pm yesterday afternoon.

The man in his 60s was fatally injured in the crash.

The road was closed while Gardaí carried out a forensic examination of the crash site – but it has since reopened.

Investigators are now appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

They are particularly interested in speaking to people who were travelling on the road at the time and may have camera footage.

The local coroner has been notified and a postmortem will be carried out on the man in due course.
