A motorist has been stabbed in Cork after confronting a number of youths who may have thrown something at his car.

The man (24) was stabbed in the stomach during the incident on Shandon Street.

It is understood his injuries are not life-threatening.

Gardaí are studying CCTV footage in a bid to identify the attackers.
