Motorists are being urged to drive with extreme care this evening - as Met Eireann issues a weather warning. 

Gusts of up to 120 kilometres per hour are expected to batter coastal counties, while up to 40 millimetres of rain is expected to fall between now and tomorrow morning. 

Three people lost their lives on the country's roads so far this weekend - while two men remain in a serious condition in hospital this evening following a single car crash on the Oldcastle to Virginia Road in Co. Meath this morning.

Head of Dublin's Traffic Corps, Chief Superintendent Aidan Reid is urging drivers to slow down.
