Its message is to remind people how important it is to be seen when using the road, whether you're a motorist, cyclist or pedestrian.

To date this year more than 150 people have been killed on our roads, 26 of those fatalities were pedestrians.

Motorists are being warned that the roads will become extremely busy this lunchtime as the Christmas exodus gets underway.

Tailbacks on all of the country's main routes are expected, as many people finish up work early and begin their journey's home for the festive period.
