Scottish resident Jessia Gallan celebrated her 109th birthday on January 2nd and has revealed her secret to a long life.
While the Aberdeen pensioner - thought to be Scotland's oldest woman - does have a bowl of porridge every day, she says the key to her longevity has been her decision not to marry.
“My secret to a long life has been staying away from men. They’re just more trouble than they’re worth,” Ms Gallan told the Daily Mail.

“I also made sure that I got plenty of exercise, eat a nice warm bowl of porridge every morning, and have never gotten married,” she added.
