'Mrs Brown’s Boys' has been named the best sitcom of the 21st century.
A Radio Times poll in Britain saw 'The Office' and 'Car Share' rounding out the top three.
Readers voted from a shortlist of 40 compiled by a panel of critics and experts from the British Film Institute.
More than 14,000 votes were cast in total.
Mrs Brown's Boys, a co-production between RTÉ and the BBC, first aired in 2011.
It follows the life of Agnes Brown (played by comedian Brendan O'Carroll) and her nearest and dearest - mainly portrayed by O'Carroll's real friends and family.
The show has since had two more series, a number of specials and a film.
It has also picked up several awards - including an IFTA and BAFTA.
Speaking about the achievement O'Carroll said: "Lost for words...and that doesn’t happen to me very often."
"Myself and Jenny (co-star and wife Jennifer Gibney) are dancing around the living room. I can die happy now... but I’ll take my time."
"It vindicates the fans’ belief in the show. They have kept us on the air - it certainly wasn’t the reviewers," he added.
