Gardaí in Co. Mayo are expected to launch a murder investigation during a press conference on yesterday's fatal shooting.

A man (26) died after he was shot a number of times at a service station in Castlebar.

A post mortem examination will be carried out at Mayo General Hospital this morning by the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
