A man has died after a serious assault at a hostel in Dublin this morning.
The man was found with serious injuries at the hostel on Harrington Street in Dublin 8 at around 4:45am this morning.
He was taken to St James’s Hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.
It’s understood the man who died was 24 years old and it is believed he may have been stabbed following a row with another resident.
A 41-year-old man has since been arrested and Gardaí have launched a murder investigation.
He is being held at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984
The scene has been sealed off and a post-mortem is due to take place later on today.
Gardaí are making door-to-door enquires in the area.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who can help with the investigation to come forward.
