Police in the North have launched a murder investigation after a 41-year-old man was attacked and fatally injured in Belfast. 

The victim was found unconscious in an alleyway on Chamberlain Street off the Newtownards Road in East Belfast at about 1am this morning.

He was then taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries. A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
