A man and a woman have been charged with murdering two teenage boys after a “serious incident” at a house in Sheffield.
Six children, ranging in age from seven months to 14-years-old, were taken to hospital after emergency services were called to the house in Shiregreen area on Friday morning.
The two eldest, aged 13 and 14-years-old, died in hospital.
Four others, aged 11, 10, three and seven months, were released from hospital on Saturday afternoon.
A 37-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman have since been charged with murder and are due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court on Monday.
The woman has also been charged with three counts of attempted murder.
Police have provided few details as to the nature of the incident – but have confirmed it was not a shooting and said it was confined to one property.
The house is located around 100 metres from a nearby school; however, police have assured the public that it was not connected to the incident.
Investigators are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
