Convicted murderer David McCord was apprehended and returned to prison following a manhunt in Belfast today. 

He was caught in the Belfast area following police appeals to trace his whereabouts. 

McCord has now been returned to prison. 

The 54-year-old was on licence following his serving a sentence for murder. 

He was in the custody of prison staff at a property in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast on Friday when he disappeared.
