NASA’s released a new picture taken by its Curiosity rover on Mars as it was driven across the planet’s surface for the first time.
The rover will eventually head to the base of a mountain where it will drill into rocks and scoop up soil.
The mission will help determine whether conditions on the planet were ever right for life.

Project Manager Peter Theisinger says although the drive was only fifteen feet – it couldn’t have gone any better.
