Over 72,000 people are currently waiting for a driving test.
In addition, nearly 17,000 have scheduled an appointment while over 14,000 tests have been conducted this year.
Transport spokesperson for Sinn Féin Pa Daly has said the Government is failing people who want to get out on the road.
"There has been an increase in the last three months alone," he said.
"So, the statutory maximum for a driving test is ten weeks and there's no test centre around the country that is meeting that.
"Many people are waiting for six months or more."
Dublin has the highest waitlist, at almost 25,000, followed by Cork, Kildare and Meath.
