Smartphone owners previously had to rely on a whole suite of applications to compare and contrast transport times. The new software allows users to quickly check bus, train and tram times, giving real-time details of Dublin Bus, Bus Eireann, Iarnród Éireann and Luas services.

The information is nationwide where applicable. 

The new app also has in-built support for the Transport Authority's existing Jouney Planner software. It also includes notification functions (alerting travellers when they are near a stop or a bus is due to arrive) and direct news feeds from the various transport companies involved.

The free Real Time Ireland app is now available for free download on iOS and Android devices.
