Landowners and nature lovers across the country have been asked to watch out for forest fires over the next few days.
A status orange high forest fire risk warning has been issued by the Department of Agriculture; the warning will remain in place until 12pm on April 7th.
Colum Frawley from Clare County Council Fire and Rescue Service outlined the reasons behind this warning.
“There’s a high fire risk in all areas where there’s dead grass, shrubs, gorse, heather,” he said.
“Which are usually near forestry; the reason why it’s there is due to low rain levels over the last while and the wind that is predicted across Ireland over the coming days.”
You can report a forest fire on 999 who will report the problem to a local forest manager.
