Fine Gael’s Neale Richmond has been appointed as a Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
Mr Richmond will be in charge of Employment Affairs and Retail Business.
The appointment comes after Damien English’s resignation as a minister; Mr English admitted that he had been “wrong” not to declare that he owned a property when he submitted a planning application in 2008.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar praised Mr Richmond as a capable politician and media performer on the topic of Brexit.
Mr Richmond’s appointment means that all Dublin Rathdown TDs now hold ministerial office.
