18 million people are unemployed in the eurozone – the EU statistic agency reported today.

17 EU countries hit the record high number in July.

88,000 people joined the ranks of the unemployed in the same month but revised date saw the unemployment rate unchanged at 11.3%.

Eurostat confirmed the 18,002,000 headline figure was the highest since records began in 1995.
