Seán Cox has celebrated his first birthday at home since he was attacked in the UK two years ago, with the Garda Dog Unit making a surprise visit to wish him a happy birthday.
The father of three from Dunboyne in Co Meath was attacked outside the stadium in April 2018, ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final against AS Roma.
Seán has spent the past two years undergoing intensive rehabilitation and therapy, with that set to consider for the 'foreseesable future'.
However, the Cox family celebrated a major milestone last month.
They were reunited under one roof for the first time in almost two years after Sean made a "long awaited and welcome return" to his home in Dunboyne.
Today, the Garda Dog Unit paid a special visit to Sean Cox to wish Seán a happy birthday.
