Netflix has announced a price increase for its Irish customers.
From today, the streaming service is increasing the price of its standard and premium plans.
The standard plan, which offers HD viewing and allows customers to watch on two screens simultaneously, will rise by €1 to €11.99.
The premium plan, which offers Ultra HD and allows customers to watch on four screens at once, will jump by €2 to €15.99.
The basic service, which offers one screen in standard definition, will remain unchanged at €7.99.
The move comes just weeks after the company upped its prices in the UK and, in a statement, it said the changes "reflect the improvements that we are continually making to the service."
"We change our prices from time to time to reflect the significant investments we’ve made in new TV shows and films, as well as improvements to our product," said a spokesperson for the company.
"Our basic membership will remain at the same price, ensuring as many people as possible can enjoy our content."
The increases will be applied immediately to all new customers.
Current subscribers will be notified a month before the new prices are applied to them.
