The car history check company Cartell.ie has been creating a new service that should give more accurate indications as to the worth of used cars. The new valuation tool will be available to use by both the motor trade and consumers. CPG.ie (Car Price Guide) is currently available for the UK trade, and Cartell informs us that it will be open to consumers in Ireland and the UK in "the coming weeks."
To get a valuation on a car we’re told that all that will be needed is a number plate and mileage. The system was created using data from Cartell.ie as well as information from the used car site, Carzone.ie. A data map was built using over two million pieces of information from both sites. They say that CPG.ie will allow consumers to “effectively and fairly predict current prices for even the rarer, less frequently found, cars in the market.”
