The new Children's Minister says he wants to give adopted children as much information about their birth parents as possible.

Charlie Flanagan says he wants to continue the government's work to reform adoption law and allow more contact between parents and children in some cases.

The minister's been in the Dáil this morning taking his first business since taking over from Frances Fitzgerald yesterday.
