Singer Shane MacGowan is to be the subject of a new documentary as he undergoes surgery to receive a full set of new teeth.
The hour-long documentary - which has a working title of Shane MacGowan: a Wreck Reborn - is set to be broadcast on the Sky Arts channel over the Christmas period.
McGowan is the frontman of The Pogues, and best known for festive classic Fairytale of New York - his duet with singer Kirsty MacColl. He has been open in the past about his history of substance abuse.
Television Business International reports that the new documentary will be produced by production company Bookhouse, and follow McGowan as he undergoes the 'potentially life-changing' dental treatment to receive a full set of dental implants.
Creative director Ian Lamarra said: "Shane is one of the great songwriters ever produced in Great Britain and Ireland, and we want this film to reflect that".
