New research has found that we spend the equivalent of one day a week on our smartphone, checking it up to 221 times a day.
A study has revealed we spend three and a quarter hours a day looking at social networks, email or texts, with 7 out of 10 people using their phones to try to look busy when alone.
Two thirds of us, mostly women, have started using our phones without knowing why, and three in five will text someone in the same building, instead of going to talk to them.

It also finds that four out of five people feel lost without their phone.
