A new website launched today sets out the terms of a remediation scheme for homeowners whose property has been damaged by pyrite.
Pyriteboard.ie explains which homes are eligible for remediation works, how much can be claimed to cover alternative accommodation, and how to go about applying for redress.
The website has been set up by the Pyrite Resolution Board, appointed by the government, and funded by levies on the construction and insurance sectors.
850 homes in Dublin, Meath, Kildare and Offaly have been identified as being badly-damaged by pyrite and in need of immediate repair.
Members of the Pyrite Action Group, who will be meeting the board later today, have welcomed the move as the next step towards getting finally getting their homes fixed.
Chairperson Peter Lewis, who bought his pyrite-affected apartment in 2004, wants applications to be processed as soon as possible:
