There are tonnes of fun events around the country to usher in the new year.
We've broken down some of the biggest and best events to head to this New Year's Eve.
Dublin
This year, Dublin New Year's Festival (NYF) stretches across three days and multiple venues around the capital.
From Dublin Castle to Dun Laoghaire Pier, there are tonnes of venues to choose from.
Elsewhere, the city is buzzing with club nights, gigs and parties. There's also plenty to keep you occupied on New Year’s Day, whether you want to fill your lungs with fresh air or take in some more music.
NYF Dublin runs from December 30th to January 1st with a mixture of free and ticketed events.

December 30th
The music trail kicks off as part of NYF on December 30th.
Abbey Street’s Wigwam sees Caz and Eve Wilde light up the stage from 5pm to 7pm, with Burnchurch and Ciaran Moran hitting The Storyteller at the same time.
Hotgirl and Cliffords feature upstairs at Whelan’s from 5.30pm to 7pm, with Workman’s Cellar welcoming Grooveline and Soft Launch at the same times.
Kylabelle and The Highstool Prophets grace the Hyde Rooftop from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Finally - Horse Meat Disco, Kelly-Anne Byrne and Colin Perkins hit Pygmalion from 8pm ‘til late.
In Dublin Castle, gates open at 3.30pm for an afternoon and evening of events.
Niamh Regan opens the event at 4pm, followed by Ispíní na hÉireann, Róisín O and Cormac Begley & the West Kerry Dancers with special guest Stephanie Keane.
Stomptown Brass close out the night at 8.20pm.
These events are all free entry.
December 31st (NYE)
Dublin Castle is ground zero for all the action on New Year’s Eve.
A matinee countdown concert kicks off 4pm featuring Aby Coulibaly, Kabin Krew & Lisdoonvarna Crew and Saibh Skelly.
The actual countdown concert then takes place from 8pm featuring the artists from the matinee concert with Cian Ducrot joining the lineup to welcome in 2025.

These concerts are both ticketed events with prices from €12.90 for the matinee concert and €49.90 for the countdown concert.
A fireworks spectacular will light up the sky at Dun Laoghaire Harbour and Howth Harbour from 8pm.
January 1st (NYD)
New Year’s Day sees a massively wide range of concerts from the New Year’s Festival.
Dublin Castle kicks off again at 1pm with Attention Bébé opening the show, followed by The Bonny Men, Emma Langford and Hothouse Flowers.
Meeting House Square hosts Paahto & The Bull, Kevin Fowley, Saileog Ní Cheannabhain and John Francis Flynn from 2pm.
On January 1st, the Music Trail sees ETC and Evan McGee play Wigwam, Danny Duffy and Maria Lawlor hit the Grand Social Ballroom, Problem Patterns and Chewie take the Grand Social by punk storm – plus Anna Leach and Fynch light up the Hyde Rooftop.
Annie-dog and Aliensincaves play Seek @ Hyde, Mick the Busker, Cailíní Lua and KK Lewis take on O’Donoghues, Pebbledash, Peer Pleasure and Croíthe set the upstairs of Whelans alight – and finally, Dug, Matt Benson and Hannahbella grace the Workman’s Cellar stage.

Galway
While Galway on any given weekend has an atmosphere better than any New Year’s Eve parties, there is a large range of ticketed events across the sea-side city.
The 2024 Rewind Disco Brunch is turning back the clock as well as spinning all the hottest tracks of the year, featuring hits from Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and more.
NYE revellers can dance the day away while enjoying brunch and sipping on cocktails.
Renowned music venue Róisín Dubh hosts the Club Gass New Year’s Eve Party with two drag shows, pole performer Avatar, DJ sets and a UV Party with face paint.
The Skeff holds the Sparkle & Shine New Year’s Eve Party featuring Tobi Kaye, DJ Ferg, a live countdown, balloon drop, indoor fireworks, special drinks promotions and dancing ‘til late.
Monroe’s sees in 2025 with KÍLA and special guests Dead Letter Devils and DJ Flako playing 80s/90s hits.

Cork
Renowned Irish DJ and Red FM Radio Presenter Marty Guilfoyle returns to Cyprus Avenue to ring in 2025 from 10pm to 2am.
The New Years Eve Masquerade Ball at Popscene welcomes guests to dance the night away to the best of the 80s and 90s and ring in the new year in style.
“Put on your fanciest mask and enjoy a night filled with live music, delicious drinks and great company,” Popscene said, promising a night of mystery and glamour.
This is a ticketed events, with each ticket including entry, complimentary bubbly on arrival and a masquerade mask!
Celebrate NYE with Ireland's leading Drag Haus - Mockie AH!
Their “ultimate countdown to 2025” includes six hours of dancing across two floors with a massive lineup of DJS and drag and burlesque shows.

Limerick
Limerick natives Hermitage Green bring their Connections tour to Dolans from 8pm on New Year’s Eve, alongside Cork’s the Cardinals in Dolan’s Kasbah and The O’Malleys upstairs in the iconic music venue.
House Limerick hosts a “glamorous night” at their Las Vegas themed New Year’s Eve party.
Picture casino tables, bubbles and canape platters as you get ready to ring in 2025.
The black tie event is a ticket only affair.
