Newstalk has achieved record listenership once again, according to the latest JNLR figures.
The JNLR Listenership Survey, published today, shows that Newstalk now has a market share of 7.2% – up 0.1% on last year.
The station has added 21,000 listeners over the last year and now has a weekly audience reach of 788,000 listeners.
Daily listeners to Newstalk have increased by 18,000 over the last year with the station now reaching 443,000 each weekday.
Importantly, 12,000 of these new listeners come from the key 20 to 44-year-old audience demographic, showing Newstalk is the clear leader for a new generation of talk listeners.

Newstalk Managing Editor Patricia Monahan said: ‘It’s fantastic to see continued and consistent growth across the station and to achieve another milestone for Newstalk of 7.2% market share.”

Newstalk is now beating its main competitor RTÉ Radio by 9,000 listeners in that key demographic.
In the important Dublin market, Newstalk remains the second biggest station in the capital, every day with a 12.2% market share and 178,000 daily listeners.

- Newstalk Breakfast with Ciara Kelly & Shane Coleman: 146,000 Listeners – up 9000 year-on-year.
- The Pat Kenny Show: 184,000 Listeners – up 1,000 year-on-year.
- Lunchtime Live with Andrea Gilligan: 111,000 Listeners – down 1,000 year-on-year.
- Moncrieff: 88,000 Listeners – up 12,000 year-on-year.
- The Hard Shoulder with Kieran Cuddihy: 155,000 Listeners – up 9,000 year-on-year.
- Off The Ball: 43,000 Listeners – level year-on-year.
Newstalk Breakfast with Ciara Kelly and Shane Coleman saw its audience increase by 9,000 to 146,000, while The Pat Kenny Show increased by 1,000 to 184,000.
Moncrieff with Sean Moncrieff saw an increase of 12,000 listeners and The Hard Shoulder with Kieran Cuddihy added 9,000 listeners bringing its total audience to 155,000.
Anton Savage attracted 106, 000 listeners to his new Saturday morning show on the station and Bobby Kerr continues to be a firm favourite with an audience of 119,000 tuning in to his Down to Business show every week.
Gavan Reilly, with On the Record, has also continued to grow his listener base, as an alternative option for current affairs on Sunday mornings. His audience is up 17,000 with 97,000 listeners now tuning in to him each week.
