Newstalk's Gavin McLoughlin has been nominated for a UCD Smurfit School Business Journalist Award.

Gavin - who is Newstalk's deputy business editor - has been nominated in the Podcast of the Year category for the Taking Stock podcast.

The winner will be announced during a virtual ceremony on Monday December 13th, with the winner in each of the six categories receiving a €1,000 cash prize.

The awards are chosen by an independent panel of judges comprising of business, journalism and academic leaders, chaired by Primark Brand Ambassador Breege O'Donoghue.
