Kazakhstan's tourism board has started using Borat's signature catchphrase for its latest marketing campaign.
'Very nice!' has been adopted as its official slogan just days after the release of "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm".
It comes after Kazakhstan banned the first film in 2006 and threatened to sue creator Sacha Baron Cohen.
However, the Moncrieff programme heard today that 14 years later, the country has had a change of heart and embraced the antics of the fictional Kazakh TV journalist.
Presenter Tom Dunne said: "You would have thought that this would be something people in Kazakhstan wouldn't particularly like, but no.
"Given some of the things you could say about a country, having the catchphrase 'very nice' isn't bad."
The Deputy Chairman of Kazakh Tourism Kairat Sadvakassov said in a statement to the Huffington Post that Borat’s catchphrase “offers the perfect description of Kazakhstan’s vast tourism potential in a short, memorable way.”
He said: “Kazakhstan’s nature is very nice; its food is very nice; and its people, despite Borat’s jokes to the contrary, are some of the nicest in the world.
"We would like everyone to come experience Kazakhstan for themselves by visiting our country in 2021 and beyond, so that they can see that Borat’s homeland is nicer than they may have heard.”
