A jury has been told that nine phones were seized from the home of an Irish celebrity as part of an investigation into allegations of defilement against him.
The man, who cannot be named because of the nature of the charges, is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with an underage girl.
The man is accused of three counts of defilement on various dates in 2010. He denies all the charges.
She claims she told him she was only 16-years-old before they engaged in any sexual activity.
She told the jury she performed oral sex on him: once in his workplace and twice in his home.
Under cross-examination, the man’s barrister suggested she only revealed her true age after she turned 17, and he also put it to her that nothing of a sexual nature happened in his workplace or house, as alleged.
She denied all his claims.
Today, the jury heard how Gardaí searched his home after becoming aware of certain allegations in March 2021.
During that search, nine mobile phones were seized.
The court heard the man provided his PIN numbers. Data was extracted from all of the phones, apart from one, which was broken beyond repair.
The trial continues tomorrow.
