Noel O'Flynn has announced he will not run in the general election.
The former TD in Cork left Fianna Fáil this year, seemingly due to his dissatisfaction with party leader Micheál Martin.
He has taken time out in recent months due to high blood pressure.

Mr O'Flynn has been in politics for 23 years.
But he told the Neil Prendeville Show on RedFM that he has "lost the hunger".
