North Korea has fired three short range missiles from its east coast, according to South Korea’s defence ministry. Two missiles were fired on Saturday morning, with another fired in the afternoon. It is not unusual for North Korea to launch test missiles, however, South Korean officials at the defence ministry have said they are "monitoring the situation and remain on alert".
The missiles were fired in a North East direction.
Tensions in the region have been high recently due to increasingly aggressive rhetoric from North Korea, including threats of Nuclear war, however the situation is currently at a stalemate as tensions have somewhat cooled.
