This is traffic control with the personal touch. Signs on highways in Boston are now speaking to drivers in the distinctive Boston dialect, telling them to “use yah blinkah” when switching lanes.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has taken the move in the hope of making the city’s roads safer and will keep the Boston dialect in use on their signs over the weekend which, as it is Mother’s day in the US today, is one of the busiest of the year.
