The number of Ukrainian refugees arriving in Ireland has fallen by almost two-thirds since plans to restrict their supports were announced.
Last December, the Government agreed to restrict the help it gave to Ukrainians fleeing war with changes kicking in on March 14th.
New arrivals are now given a bed for 90 days and are given a reduced allowance of €39 a week – they had previously been entitled to €220 a week.
Figures show the numbers arriving here from the war-torn country have now dropped 65% since December, according to The Irish Times.
On average, 25 Ukrainians seeking temporary protection arrived in Ireland each day last month, compared to an average of 70 per day in December.
Some 37 Ukrainians have also left state accommodation each day last month.
More than 100,000 refugees from Ukraine have arrived in Ireland since the war with Russia began in 2022.
