Nursing unions will meet their regulatory board later in an effort to resolve the ongoing fee dispute.
The dispute centres around the Nursing and Midwifery Board's decision to increase the annual retention fee by 50% to €150.
Nurses must be registered with the NMBI in order to practice.
The issue has been ongoing for a number of months and the board says the increase is needed to ensure it can continue to fulfill its role as a statutory regulator.
Trade unions INMO, PNA and SIPTU say comparable health professions have had their fees capped at €100 for the next three years.
