Move over, the Cronut, there’s a new Frankenfood craze sweeping through New York, and you might just develop diabetes looking at it. Nutellasagne is a delicious beast of pasta, marshmallow and the chocolate hazelnut spread.
Created by pastry chef Allison Robicelli, the Nutellasagne is not for the faint hearted. As Robicelli describes it:
It's layers of buttery lasagna noodles, cannoli custard, copious amounts of Nutella, crushed roasted hazelnuts and chopped chocolate, with some marshmallows on top for additional sweetness. They'll be sold in foil catering pans, so you can pop it in the oven at home and serve warm Nutellasagna after dinner. Or you can eat it cold or room temp—totally up to you.
The gut buster first tempted customers during the summer, and became such a hit that the café is bringing it back for the festive season. A full tray is designed to feed 15-24 sweet-toothed adults and costs just under €100.
The diet starts in January…
