An Irish-owned hotel chain has denied trying to resell rooms for higher prices when Oasis play Manchester next summer.
The Maldron Hotel, owned by Ireland's Dalata Group, says it's down to a "technical error" with its booking systems.
Some customers noticed that Maldron had cancelled on them in the English city before seeing listings back online at triple the cost after the Oasis reunion was announced.
"Due to a technical error with our booking system on 26th and 27th August 2024, substantially more rooms were booked than were available for the nights of the Oasis concerts on 11th/12th/19th/20th July 2025 at Maldron Hotel Manchester City and Maldron Hotel Cathedral Quarter," Maldron Hotels said in a statement.
"As a result, we are unable to honour all bookings made on these dates, and we are actively engaging with customers regarding their bookings.
"The hotels are currently not taking any bookings while we investigate the issue. This is not an attempt to resell rooms at inflated prices, rather an overbooking issue due to a technical error with our booking systems."

Maldron Hotels said that a small number of customers were able to book the rooms at a higher price later that evening "due to the same technical error".
"We will also be unable to accommodate these bookings."
The company added that it will honour bookings made before August 26th.
Taoiseach Simon Harris has warned against price-gouging ahead of next year's Dublin concerts at Croke Park.
"I would encourage everybody to engage fairly in relation to this," he said.
"The issues around price gouging, around hiking up things at the time of major events doesn't actually help anyone because it ends up giving our city or our country a bad reputation.
"It is much more in the interests, I believe, of hoteliers and others to act responsibly in relation to this and let people come to Dublin, have a good time and say, 'I want to go back again'.
"I'm sure that's what hoteliers will do," he added.
Yesterday Newstalk revealed some hotels have already doubled their prices for the two Oasis Dublin concerts next August.
