An Oasis reunion would be “one of the most monumental mega gigs ever to happen in the history of music”, according to music fans.

The Britpop band, led by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, teased an announcement coming out at 8am tomorrow.

Many suspect – or just hope – the brothers will announce a series of reunion concerts 15 years after the band’s infamous split.

‘Oasis WTS’ fan page curator Gareth Dunleavy said today was like “Christmas Eve” for Oasis fans.

“Whether you believe it or not, tomorrow at 8am when you're sitting down, you're putting the kids out or whether you're just a fan and you're having your Weetabix or Coco Pops, you'll be scrolling on your phone,” he told Lunchtime Live.

“You're going to know whether the two brothers are going to be reunited for one of the most monumental mega-gigs ever to happen in the history of music.

“As Noel said, it was going to take an extreme set of coincidences and things to happen for this thing to happen.”

Mr Dunleavy acknowledged the announcement might be a documentary or something other than a gig – but it’s fun to hope.

“What I'd love is that it's just a video of two chairs and Noel comes in wearing his leather jacket or whatever and he sits down and then his brother sits down and he goes, ‘All right’,” he said.

“I believe that 100% at 8am tomorrow, we’re going to get the [gig] announcement.

“Every year we get hints of these reunions, and they never happen - but this time, it's different.”

Alan Buckley, head tour guide at the Irish Rock N’ Roll Museum Experience, said fans are “very anxious” about what might happen tomorrow.

“These brothers have been at odds, as a polite way of putting it, for the last 15 years more or less, and are finally going to get back together,” he said.

“For how long? For a limited run? For a new album? Who knows?

“But I do think that for people who want to see the brothers back on stage together at last - I believe the time is now.”

Liam and Noel Gallagher, known for iconic songs such as Wonderwall, last performed together in June 2009 in Manchester.

Noel quit Oasis suddenly in August 2009 after the band cancelled their Rock en Seine performance.

He said he “could not go on working with Liam a day longer” - but they may say 'Hello' to each other once again.
