US President Barak Obama has used his weekly address to reiterate how he hopes a deal can be reached to save the US economy from falling off the so-called 'fiscal cliff'.

Senior Democrats and Republicans have until Monday to thrash out a plan - before a series of tax hikes and spending cuts come into force.
