Barack Obama has travelled to Colorado to push Congress into passing stalled US gun control legisaltion.

The US President is revving up his campaign for tighter laws ahead of a tough congressional fight in the coming weeks.

Colorado has witnessed some of the worst mass shootings in US history including the Columbine High School massacre and the cinema shootings in Aurora.

President Obama is urging Americans to join him in his fight to reduce gun violence and to call on their local representatives to take a stand on gun control.
