A man with obsessive compulsive disorder has become an internet sensation - reciting a love poem.
Neil Hilborn performed the piece, entitled "OCD", at the 2013 Rustbelt Regional Poetry Slam in the US state of Wisconsin.
The ode to love is punctuated by the palpable on-stage struggle by the poet with nervous tics.
After a video of a recital went viral on Reddit, Hilborn made a surprise appearance in the thread to take questions from newfound fans.
Hilborn says the girl in question has heard the poem
In his responses he reportedly confirmed he has undergone extensive therapy over the past several years which has helped substantially reduce his symptoms.
He also reveals that the poem was originally written some two years ago and that the girl in question has heard it.
He has also reassured his fans that while the girl he wrote the poem about "did come back...and then left, and then came back, and then left again", that he is in a good place now.
"I can't speak for everyone's experience, but I know that I am not the only person to have tics dissolve because of love" he adds.
