A 92-year-old Austrian woman curious as to why she was not on the list of registered voters was surprised when officials told her she had died a few months previous.

Johanna Franz said it was a bit of a shock when they informed her she had died in the Spring.

Officials have since resurrected her on their records.

The grandmother of 3 quoting Mark Twain later said reports of her death were greatly exaggerated.

A spokeswoman for Austrian capital authorities Sandra Frauenberger confirmed the incident.

"This happening a second time can be ruled out" she said.
