There’s a glimmer of hope for staff at car dealerships, who are concerned about slow sales because the public’s wary of reg’s with a ’13′ on them.

The Government’s considering proposals that would mean cars bought before the end of June 2013 will have a licence plate that starts with the number ’131′ – while those bought after July 1st will have plates that begin ’132′.

Kerry TD Michael Healy Rae first proposed the introduction of a bi-annual car registration system in the Dail.
