Organisers say momentum is growing for ‘The Gathering’.

It’s billed as the most ambitious tourism initiative ever undertaken in Ireland, and nearly 2 thousand people have already taken part in 11 events so far.

People from all walks of life are being urged to get organising their own gatherings for next year.

Some of the events already organised for next year include a reunion of the Fitzgerald clan, and the Carndonagh Community School Gathering in Donegal, for which over 2 thousand past pupils and their families have already signed up.
