A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in west Dublin last night.
The victim has been named locally as Aaron Keating.
He suffered serious stab wounds after a row broke out on Main Street in Ongar at around 7pm yesterday evening.
People in the area at the time rushed to try and help him but he was pronounced dead in Connolly Hospital.
Mr Keating was in his 40s and was well-known and liked in the Ongar area.
He was known to State services for personal issues.
Earlier this morning, Gardaí investigating his death arrested a teenage boy.
He is being held at a Garda Station in west Dublin this afternoon.
A post-mortem is due to be carried out later this afternoon.
Gardaí are continuing to urge anyone with any information to contact them.
They are seeking witnesses who were in or around Main Street, Ongar between 6:30pm and 7pm yesterday and they are particularly interested in speaking to drivers who may have video footage.
