Gardaí are conducting a ‘day of action’ targeting anti-social behaviour on public transport today.
Operation Twin Tracks will see officers carrying out high visibility and proactive patrol on Luas and DART services across Dublin today.
They will also be carrying out the patrols on several Intercity Services.
Meanwhile, Gardaí and local Crime Prevention Officers will be present in Pearse Street, Connolly and Heuston stations alongside a range or regional stations.
The station officers will engage with commuters and offer guidance on crime prevention.
The eight intercity routes being patrolled are:
- Mayo/Roscommon/Longford: Ballyhaunis, Claremorris, Manulla Junction, Foxford, Ballina, Castlebar and Westport stations
- Galway: Galway, Oranmore, Athenry, Attymon, Woodlawn, Ballinasloe and South from Athenry, Craughwell, Ardrahan and Gort
- Sligo/Leitrim: Sligo, Colloney, Ballymote, Boyle, Carrick on Shannon, Dromod, Longford and Edworthstown
- Kildare/Carlow: Newbridge, Kildare, Monasterevin, Athy and Carlow stations
- Wicklow/Wexford: Bray, Greystones, Wicklow, Rathdrum, Arklow, Gorey, Enniscorthy, Wexford, and Rosslare stations
- Limerick and Tipperary: Limerick, Limerick Junction, Castledonnell, Birdhill, Nenagh, Cloughjordan, Roscrea, Ballbrophy, Templemore, Thurles, Tipperary, Cahir, Clonmel and Carrick on Suir
- Cork City, North and West: Charleville, Mallow, Banteer, Millstreet, Rathmore, Glounthane, Cobh and Midleton stations.
