There is a call for the 'discredited' Health Minister to step down. The demand from Fianna Fail comes amid reports that the government proposal to provide free GP care for all is to be scrapped.
The first phase for those with long-term illnesses was to be implemented last year but it is reported a 'legal issue' led that to be delayed.
Now the latest reports suggest the plan by Dr. James Reilly will not now happen. Fianna Fail health spokesperson Billy Kelleher says it is time for Dr. Reilly to go.
While the Former Junior Health Minister Roisin Shortall also believes its time for Minister Reilly to go.
Deputy Shortall says the health service needs urgent reform and cannot be allowed to continue operating in its current 'chaotic' state.
She told Lunchtime here on Newstalk that she believes Dr. Reilly should resign.
