Three weather warnings are now in place from Met Eireann. A wind warning for Munster and Leinster has been stood down.

But there are Orange flood and wind warnings for many parts of the country, as well as a nationwide Yellow rainfall warning and a snow-ice warning for the north and west.

There is a flooding warning for the entire country, as another Atlantic storm tracks over Ireland producing heavy rain and gales in places.

A rainfall warning is in place for Munster, Leinster, Connacht, Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan with between 30 and 45 millimetres forecast.

And a snow-ice warning is also in effect for for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Kildare, Longford, Westmeath and Meath.

A band of heavy rain is expected to move northwards during Friday, and snow is likely for a time in parts of Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster.

Meanwhile major operations are ongoing to try to restore power to over 75,000 customers who are still without power since storms on Wednesday night.

Paul Hickey of ESB Networks says thousands of homes may be without power until early next week.

While Gerard Fleming from Met Éireann says the current pattern of unsettled weather is not over just yet.

Cork is on high alert ahead of high tide at 5.30pm this evening.
