Motorists taking to the roads today are being advised that dense fog is affecting visibility in places. Met Eireann has issued an national orange weather warning for today and tomorrow.

It says the fog will form this evening and may lift temporarily - but will return tonight and become dense in places overnight.

The warning is in place from 6pm this evening.

Road-users are advised to slow down and use their fog lights in any affected areas.
