Orange weather warnings have been issued for five counties on Sunday.
A Status Orange rain warning is in place for Cork, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford.
Heavy rain is being forecast with some intense and thundery downpours.
Possible impacts include flooding, dangerous driving conditions and travel disruption.
The alert for Cork and Waterford is valid from 8am to 6pm; the warning for Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford is in place from 1pm to midnight.

Status Yellow rain and wind warnings have also been issued for Munster, Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford and Wicklow across Sunday and into Monday.
These will see heavy rain accompanied by strong and gusty winds.
Met Éireann is warning of possible localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and some fallen branches.
Weather outlook
The forecast for Sunday will be wet and windy with widespread rain.
The rain will be heaviest in the south and southeast and there will be intense falls at times causing flooding.
The rain will also be accompanied by fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds, with onshore gales on southern and eastern coasts.
Sunday night will see rain gradually clear from the southeast with dry conditions developing across most of the country.
Further outbreaks of rain will move into the northwest later in the night.
Monday will be mostly cloudy with rain or showers.
It will become drier and brighter in the south through the afternoon with highest temperatures of 10 to 15C.
