Unions and organisations representing nurses have welcomed the Health Minister's intervention in the registration fee dispute.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland are being criticised over a 50% increase in the registration fee.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling on its members to pay the existing fee of €100 instead of the new €150 fee for 2015.

Trade unions INMO, PNA and SIPTU say comparable health professions have had their fees capped at €100 for the next three years.
